Architectural Engineering helps When you were a kid and you went to a beach to build a sand castle you must have learnt very quickly that if you use dry sand and fill the bucket with it and then put it upside down your castle would crumble down. Whereas if you went to take really wet sand, again the squishy lot would come down and you would fail to make the castle upright. Hence after a while you would realize that if there is enough moisture in the sand only then you would be able to make beautiful castles. This is an example of understanding materials and material properties i.e. how different materials behave.

Architectural engineering is a specific field of engineering that deals more with structures and buildings.
