Significance of Satellites
Significance of Satellites Introduction
Significance of Satellites an object which revolves around the planet in a circular motion is known as Satellite. All the satellites revolves around the orbits. Except our moon, all other satellites made by humans are called artificial satellites. For example, the first artificial satellite called Sputnik 1 by Soviet Union was launched on 4 October,1957 . Whereas, moon is the natural satellite of Earth planet.
Satellites
Satellites play a pivotal role in Science, Information Technology, Engineering, and Many other fields.Satellites are called semi-independent computer controlled systems.
Functions Of Satellites
Different Satellites have different types of jobs. In other words, there is a difference between the satellite of television, and weather. It means, there is a separate satellite for producing television signals for instance the satellite which performs tasks of a weather station.Followings are some major functions of Satellites:
1)Satellites provide all types of signals, such as, Radio, Television, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Weather Signals.
2)Observes and measures the environment from long distances, and help in monitoring important resources. Such as Remote Sensing or Earth observational Satellites.
3) The Satellites such as Weather and Climate Satellites help in predicting the weather conditions. COSMOS is one of the typical satellite which help meteorologists to check out the weather conditions.
3) Communication Satellites are functional through antennas. Ground stations transmit signals and the satellite antennas pick up those signals so that to transmit data on Earth.
TELSTAR and INTELSAT are the examples of Communication Satellites. These satellites are being used in to produce telephone, radio, and television signals all around the world.
4) Military of the sovereign nations also use satellites to remain powerful in saving secret information. The military use powerful applications in this regard, such as Photographing equipment and high technical electronics.
5)A big telescope termed as an Astronomy Satellite floating in the space work as infrared imaging equipment.
There are so many other Satellites besides Weather, Communication, Astronomical, Remote-sensing, and Military Satellites. Most importantly, Navigational Satellites are helping Satellites in locating motions, movements, locations, internet, and Information about the space.
Important Points
✓ Mostly, Satellites launch into space on rockets.
✓Satellites signals produce by methods such as, carrier waves, frequencies, and amplitudes.
✓Mostly, satellites signals do not require instructions of the user, but automatically deliver signals where ever they require.
✓Satellites orbit around planets, on different speed and different frequencies. Orbits such as, geostationary and polar.
✓Moon is the natural Satellite.
✓First man-made Satellite was produce by Soviet Union in 1957.
✓In lower earth orbits, there are about 500 operational satellites.
✓In medium earth orbits about 50 satellites are working.
Significance of Satellites Conclusion
A satellite is an object to receive signals from space and to perform various tasks by the help of those signals and waves.
Satellites are of two types: Natural, just as Moon and Artificial such as made by human beings for the purpose of various tasks. The significance of satellites is more important in our globe. Because, they help in to achieve all scientific, technology, and electronics objectives.
