Global Positioning System GPS

Global Positioning System GPS is defined as “A system that is capable of receiving information from GPS satellites worldwide”. The system is based on 33 total satellites.

GPS Origin

United States created this system which can be considered as the satellite based radio navigation system. Satellite based navigation system is the part of navigation. Whereas, navigation deals with the study of monitoring and controlling devices or vehicles. Originally, this system was launched by the US in the own country. But, later it became accessible to every country. Because, US left it free from restrictions. Now every GPS receiver can use it freely without any restrictions.

Formerly, this GPS was known as GPS NAVSTAR. Through this system, users can receive desire geographic locations. The most users of this system are consider Military, Civilian, Professionals, and Commercials. As already mention above, GPS was originally launch in the US. It’s operator is US AFSPC (Air Force Space Command). In other words, you can say that this system is operating under the USAF or United States Air Force. Remember that, USAF is the branch of US Arm Forces.

GPS Signals

GPS satellites broadcast signals of positions, geographic locations, and information from space. There are about 33 GPS satellites in the space. Through the satellites, the GPS devices show geographical positions on maps. Users can receive accurate directions through using GPS on devices.

Otherwise, GPS can not run without turning on our own location. In this case, users must be free of Internet restrictions. So that GPS could be functional well. Big mountain, buildings, and most rural areas can block this service due to unavailability of satellites in particular locations.
