College Board was established in December 1899. It is a non-profit organization of America design to expand access to higher education. It provides standardized tests like SAT, ACT,PSAT,AP etc. In States there is generally ACT or SAT. They takes when students apply for colleges as a part of admission process. The test bases on K-12 curricula.

This is basically to standardize colleges to a uniform grading system. So we can say that these tests really are useful. However, students give no feedback on their test performance and never know how they grade. Yet, the College Board is highly appreciated and is popular because it provides what colleges want and students have no choice.

College applications are generally above 80,000 a year so it cannot be possible to review each application properly. Many universities have algorithms for checking the applications, which sorts them out. For doing this they need numeric values which SAT or ACT does.

Schools want what saves them time and that is what this company designs for. According to their mission statement they connect students to colleges successfully which out any profit. Yet they make 750,000 dollars a year. So in a way they are charging high prizes from students while saying that they are actually benefiting students without any profit. The SAT rules the coast and the ACT in between.

The cost of college may be high but then we should consider that it is of enormous value. For many students going to college is hardly a choice putting them on collision with the College Board. This is a company that rules education. If you have ever taken SAT, PSAT or an AP class, the College Board has cashed your cheque and they do it as a non-profit organization despite making a million in profit every year.
